Dietary Habits of Korean Adults: Results of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

Abstract
The objective of this study was to examine the dietary habits of Korean adults aged 19 years and over. Data were gathered from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted from 2005 to 2015. About 29.5% of men and 26.1% of women skipped breakfast one day prior to the nutrition survey. The proportion of subjects who read nutrition labels when purchasing or choosing processed foods was 19.6% in men and 37.5% in women. On the other hand, the proportion of subjects who received nutrition education or counseling in the past year was 2.7% in men and 4.9 in women. There were more men who ate out of their homes more than once a day(43.1%) as compared to women (19.2%). The proportion of subjects who usually had dinner with family members was 58.2% in men and 63.6% in women.
